Montana Race Season

[frame align=”right”][/frame]As the weather is getting warmer in Missoula, runners are gearing up for racing season. Here are a few unique races to keep on your radar this summer:

Color Me Rad May 4th, 2013

The Color Me Rad 5K is a unique  race that blasts its runners with various colors of corn starch powder. The race kicks off at the Flying H Stables and Rooster Ridge Pheasant Club.

Missoula River Bank Run May 11, 2013

This is a top ranking event in Runner’s World magazine, it is a 1-mile, 5k or 10k race hosted by the YMCA. Start time for the 10k is 9 a.m., 10:30 for the 5k and 11:45 for the 1-mile run. All races begin at Higgins and Broadway.

Missoula Marathon July 14, 2013

This is the 7th annual Missoula Marathon, hosted by Run Wild Missoula. There are various race options; marathon, half-marathon, 5k, and kids marathon. The marathon and half-marathon race starts at 6 a.m. at Missoula Marathon Expo in Caras Park. The 5k starts at 8 a.m. at Missoula Marathon Expo in Caras Park.

Missoula Marathon Beer Run July 12, 2013

This race is two days before the big Missoula Marathon. It is a great chance to meet runners from all around the world while checking out the beautiful Missoula, Montana sights. Not to mention you will also get to enjoy a refreshing brew from our very own Big Sky Brewing Co. The race includes 3 to 5 mile routes with tour guides to point out cultural and historical highlights of Missoula. This race begins at 6 p.m. at the Iron Horse Brew Pub.

Monthly Beer Run, Last Wednesday of Every Month

Get together with some friends to run a couple miles then continue the fun with a beverage afterwards. This is definitely something to put on your calendar. Starts at 6 p.m. at various locations. Check our events calendar for specifics!

June’s Beer Run is a special one: Between the hours of 5 – 8 p.m., KettleHouse Brewing, 313 N. 1st St. West, will donate 50 cents from every pint sold back to Run Wild Missoula.

Dirty Dash September 7th, 2013

The name explains it all. Dress up with your favorite group of friends and enjoy this unique mud run! The Dirty Dash is a mud run obstacle course, approximately 3.1 miles long. There is also a Beer Chug Obstacle for those over 21, or root beer chug for those who are not. You will get dirty! Race starts in waves every 20 minutes from 9:00 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. at Equestrian Park.
