Run Wild Missoula
Run Wild Missoula promotes and supports running and walking as sports for people of all ages and abilities by: educating the general public about the benefits of running and walking; sponsoring and conducting races and other organized events; sponsoring or supporting health and fitness workshops and clinics; publishing a regular newsletter that includes a calendar of events, articles, and results of local races; maintaining a web site that includes general Run Wild Missoula information and running and walking events.
Run Wild Missoula also supports projects and programs in the community that promote running and other fitness-related activities. With more than 1,500 members, RWM organizes fitness activities, organized group runs, training classes, and of course, races (over a dozen held annually). Participation in our events range from 30 for our fitness classes to over 5,000 runners and walkers in last year’s Missoula Marathon and Half Marathon. The Missoula Marathon was voted the best marathon in the nation by the readers of Runner’s World Magazine in 2010 and was named the Montana Tourism Event of the Year in 2010.
